Firm, deep and complex, a touch meaty, and in addition a clearly peppery scent of ripe red and black berries plus dried-floral nuances and juniper spice. Taut, youthful and fresh, almost cool, juicy, polished fruit, crumbly-sand tannin, a little tobacco, touch of cocoa and also a hint of tar on the palate with tart, nutty tones and some bite. This wine has power and depth but no heaviness at all -- rather a firm core, undeveloped, and with ethereal notes reminiscent of eucalyptus. A very good, firm, juicy, slightly spicy finish with smoky nuances, slightly drying tannins and a little tomato paste.
