Kurayoshi 'The Matsui' Peated Single Malt Whisky
A peated whisky from the Kurayoshi Distillery released as part of The Matsui series and dubbed The Peated! It's pot-distilled and then matured in white oak bourbon casks, before bottling at 48% ABV. The bottle is adorned with Katsushika Hokusai’s famed piece, The Great Wave, chosen to represent the spirit and force of the whisky within.
Nose: Loads of fresh and toasty malted cereal aromas, supported by earthy peat and swirls of smoke and a touch of vanilla oak.
Palate: Toasty oak, brown sugar, creamy vanilla and a touch of orchard fruit, all enveloped by ashy smoke.
Finish: Peat smoke and fresh apple linger.
